BARB have released the finalized viewing figures for The Eleventh Hour, revealing that the Series 5 opener was watched by an official audience of 10.8million. The overnight ratings for the episode were just  8.3m million viewers but after adding up we have the final figure.

The Eleventh Hour Overnight Ratings

Overnight viewing figures show that Matt Smith’s debut episode – The Eleventh Hour was watched by 8.3m million viewers ( 38.4% audience share ). Full figures including those who recorded it and watched it within 7 days will be available form BARB in a couple of weeks time. I recorded it so thats one you can add!

The Eleventh Hour Review ***** (Five stars)

Best Bit: Amy Ponds legs! Oh best bit of the episode.. ah.....FISH CUSTARD!
Worst Bit: I liked it all really i genuinely cant think of anything!
Best Character: Prisoner Zero for me he looked so slimy yet kind of cute.

Last night we got our first new adventure in months and was it worth the wait? Well simply yes it was. Fun, exciting, spooky and sleek are all words that i would use to describe that brilliat debut for Matt Smith our Eleventh Doctor. The story to start was back to classic Who the Doctor saving the world and joining forces with peole he has met. Last years specials focused on David Tennants departure and had a bleak tone to the episodes but now thats over its about time we had some fun. The monsters were pretty good the Face tendril and Atraxi. The effects didnt look as good as they usually do and disguising them as humans always cuts the budget but who cares they were new and exciting like every thing else! Of course the arc begins in this episode "silence will fall" a bit like the darkness in Series 4 when it meant Davros and The Daleks coming back. Now onto the performances and Matt and Karen.... Fantastic! Matt excelled in the role playing a scene for  laughs if needed or a sense of fear if needed and his mad attitude is reminicent of our previous Doctor turned up a 100! Ive almost forgotten about the new titles and guess what i love them too! The music isnt as dynamic as it used to be but it will grow on me im sure. At the end we get a look at the new Tardis which will take us to the far future and back in time  and  a look at Amy's wedding dress! So a Doctor Who wedding it cant be worse than a Torchwood one! I dont think by far this is the best episode of the series i think there is better to come! Until next week ummm i need a catchphrase! Ill think of one by next week tra.

The Eleventh Hour Tonight

 So as if you needed reminding the new series starts tonight! Im so glad i can stop going on about how close it is because its actually here! Im also kind of glad those trailers wont be on anymore. There like those Christmas BBC One idents with David Tennant riding the Tardis there getting a bit annoying! So anyway tune in BBC1 6:20pm for The Eleventh Hour were you will see Atraxi, Children, Leadworth, Doors, Duck ponds, Short Skirts (Woop) and of course our new Doctor! Here are five steps to total enjoyment!

1.Get anyone that may be noisy or start talking out of the room!

2. Make sure you dont need to get up for the next 63 minuites!

3. Un plug the phone and ignore the door! (Ok dont unplug the phone unless you parents approve!)

4. Make sure your sofa is ready for you to leap behind! This is a Moffat story you have been warned.

New The Eleventh Hour Clip

Prisoner Zero?

So we have had outer-space rhinos, nasty feline nuns and now it looks like this mutt may be The Doc's latest enemy! This dog is supposedly a shape shifiting alien called Prisoner Zero that the Atraxi are after. The Atraxi are space police and if other rumours are to be belived our planet culd be at risk if he isnt returned to them!Im not quite sure how this dog fits in with the crack in the wall and other pictures of a woman and her children loking creepy like this man holding the Dog. This may not be the dog that is Prisoner zero as Matt Smith has been seen crouched down talking to something that isnt there when filming meaning that it could be CGI. Anyway enough speculation theres only 3 days left!

The BBC Doctor Who website have put this opening clip from the first episode on their website and it looks like this Doctor is going to get into alot of danger!The clip is 42 seconds in length pointless in my opinion but  i guess its better than nothing. Just a week to go now come on!!!!

The Eleventh Hour Airdate and Time Confirmed

Matt Smiths first episode as The Doctor will be aired on Saturday the 3rd of April at 6:20pm to 7:25pm. That means that instead of the usual 45 minuite episode we get a fun packed 65 minuites! Whether this will be a pattern for the whole series remains to be seen but I dont think it will. Doctor Who Confidential will be on straight after on BBC3. So The Eleventh Hour 6:20pm 3rd of April BBC1. Be there!Thanks to Dalek 1099 for the heads up! Synopsis:

The Doctor has regenerated into a brand new man, but danger strikes before he can even recover. With the TARDIS wrecked, and the sonic screwdriver destroyed, the new Doctor has just 20 minutes to save the whole world - and only Amy Pond to help him. Written by Steven Moffat.

Info and Rumours:

1. According to Wikipedia  the monsters for this episode are The Atraxi who are a group of galactic policemen. Sounds rather like The Judoon but they were police for hire.

2.The Tenth Doctors Sonic Screwdriver will be destroyed when the new Doctor signals the Atraxi ship.

3.Amy is rumoured to be a orphan girl which would explain her wanting to go off with The Doctor through time and space!

4.The Tardis was last seen falling apart after The Tenth Doctor's regeneration so we will have a new Tardis interior to go with our new Doctor.

5.The episode is set in the fictional location of Leadworth.

6. Whilst filming Amy is seen dressed in a policewomans outfit.The Sun newspaper reported that Amy will be a kissogram, and that the police uniform is a costume as part of that job. Seems random but who knows?

7. A recently released clip from The Eleventh Hour shows the Doctor's first meeting with Amy in the 1990s, when she is a eight-year-old girl. The TARDIS crashes outside her house, and the Doctor says he will need to make a "five-minute jump into the future" in order to fix it. Amy asks if she can come, too, but he tells her to wait, saying that she can come along when he returns in five minutes. Presumably, he winds up in 2010 instead, meeting Amy as an adult.

8. The episode may have a runtime of 60 minuites rather than the usual 45. I know which one i'd rather!
9.The Doctor uses the phrase "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" at one point.

Red Button Preview of The Eleventh Hour

UK viewers will get an exclusive preview of The Eleventh Hour from this Wednesday when the first minute of the episode is made available on the BBC Red Button service.The clip will launch on 24th March and will be available at various times until the series launches at Easter Weekend. On day one the clip is expected to be available from 6am-2pm, from 3pm to 5.50pm and then from 9.10pm onwards.The BBC red button service can be viewed on digital platforms in the UK.
