The Hungry Earth Review **** (4 stars)

Best bit: The nice Welsh community and of course The Silurains!
Worst bit: Meera Syal wasnt as good as I was expecting.
Best Character: The Doctor.I feel like Matt is The Doctor now.
Line of the episode: The Doctor: OI! DON'T DISS THE SONIC!

The Silurians are back! Saturday saw the return of the reptilian meanies in the first part of the two part adventure. I think this episode does a better job of setting up a proper story than The Time of Angels  did for the Weeping Angels two parter as we get a good look at the creatures and we know what they want but also not giving too much away like why have they captured the humans? Theres plenty of interseting tidbits too like why Amy and Rory have gone back in time to see themselves this must have some significance and wondering who will kill Alaya the Silurian. The Silurian desgin looks better than I first thought and you can see the detail gone into each prosthetic mask giving the actor/actress the chance to show facial features under all that rubber. Some have seen parallels with classic series episodes like Third Doctor Adventure Inferno which featured a drilling project and the another Third Doctor story which featured Silurains Doctor Who and the Silurians but I suppose its ok to draw inspiration from the past.As i mentioned above I have really warmed to the Eleventh  Doctor and his frantic speech is always a highlight "Oh look, a big mining thing. Oh, I love a big mining thing... see? Way better than Rio, Rio doesn't have a big mining thing." The guest cast were rather good especially the young boy Elliot played by Samuel Davies.I was expecting more from Meera Syal I mean shes alright but not exactly brilliant maybe she will have more to do in the next part. Overall a good first part but the next part will need to pick up the pace a bit for a thrilling adventure! Until next time Hwyl Fawr (When in Wales!)

Amy's Choice review **** 1/2 (4 and a half stars)

Best bit: The Dreamlord winding up The Doctor. Loved it!
Worst bit: All the kissing buisness.
Best Character: The Dreamlord was very good.
Line of the episode: The Doctor: You said everyone here lives to their nineties. There's something that doesn't make sense. Let's go and poke it with a stick. (And more but I liked this one)

A completely diffrent kind of episode bizzare and creepy something that Doctor Who hasnt tried in a while. I mean we had old aged pensioners with aliens in their mouths! The story was good and the fact that The Dreamlord was a dark side of The Doctor was a lovely twist and a nice conclusion for the viewer.I dont think its as good as last weeks episode because last week was like a classic episode of Doctor Who with nasty vampires and big action sequences. This weeks tale just didnt feel like Doctor Who for me. That said we had a brilliant performance from Toby Jones as The Dreamlord and I really wanted him to become like a new Master type character and I think its a shame he probibly wont be back . The Doctor was on top form too. A complaint of mine is the love story between Rory and Amy. Im sick of all the kissing and Im pretty tierd of Rory even though I warmed to him last week. I still dont know what he's doing in The TARDIS. And another thing why are the aliens taking human form all the time? Prisoner Zero and The Ecnodeen (the mouth thing in this episode) and the Vampires all hide inside humans and pop out of the mouth of their hosts. What is it with the mouths! At the moment im really excited about The Cybermen and Silurians because there blatant nasties not hiding away in disguise. This review seems pretty negative I know so ill list the things I loved about this episode to end on a positive note. I loved The Dreamlord, the frozen TARDIS, the ponchos, Miss Poggit falling off the roof and Rory getting incinerated  ok a bit mean but seriously why is he here answers on a postcard please.Until next time stay away from old people!

The Vampires of Venice Review ***** (5 Stars)

Best bit: The Doctor jumping out of the cake and the fight between Rory and Fracesco.
Worst bit: The fact that it ended!
Best Character: Rory. I have really warmed too him.
Line of the episode: The Doctor: Which reminds me, there's a girl standing outside in a bikini, can somebody let her in and give her a jumper? Lucy. Lovely girl. Diabetic ...

This story has to be the best of the series so far. I gave my highest rating to Flesh and Stone last week which was a 5. But after watching this episode I think this was ten times better! The comedy, the action, the monsters, the setting I cant think how they could have made it better although the CGI  bothered some I liked it.I think that pre titles sequence has to be the best yet with the creepiness of the Vamps and the hilarity of The Doctor crashing Rory's stag do. Speaking of Rory I really warmed to him in this episode. I thought he was just another Mickey Smith (who was brilliant!) but he actually stands up to The Doctor and can see the affect he has had on his fiancee. Now onto the Vampires and of course theres more to them than meets the eye. Turns out there fish creatures-only in Doctor Who! It was another "Our homeplanet has been destroyed..." type story which has been done a hundred times before but it felt very new and fresh. Now i'm going to say something thats a bit controversial and that is Steven Moffat isnt that good! Anyone could have written The Eleventh Hour and The Beast Below they both felt very RTD.  The Time of Angels/ Flesh and Stone were Stevens high point and he should stick too two part storys in my opinion. His adventures are too ambitious for 45 minuite episodes and you can see in this episode that Toby Whithouse has managed to get a well rounded romp into 45 minuites. There was plenty of humour,  Rory calling the Vampires Mother ugly, the small torch that Rory had and the big lightsaber type thing The Doctor unleashed and the hand over mouth scene. The last part of the episode is strange with mention of the silence but all will become clear. Overall a great episode until next week Ciao!

Flesh and Stone Review ***** (5 stars)

Best bit: The Angels starting to move almost getting Amy.
Worst bit: The whole kiss scene!
Best Character: Father Octavian. Why did he have to go!
Line of the episode: The Doctor:  The Pandorica, ha! That's a fairytale.

Last week I gave the first part of this story 3 stars because I dont like to review half a story I couldnt give it a 5. Now ive seen both parts its getting that 5! From the off we were straight into the action with Angels everywhere chasing the gang through the Byzantium and then through the beautifully creepy forest vault. Its great to have lots of Angels after last weeks lone Angel and they gave me serious chills. Is it just me or was Angel Bobs voice very freaky! I think that was the scariest part for me that his inoccent voice became so menacing. The Doctor addressed those obvious cracks and it turns out its nothing major. Well the end of the universe where past and presant will collide if you count that as major. Some didnt like the fact that we saw The Angels move but I liked it. You cant just keep a returning creature the same as the last time it appeared otherwise there would be no point bringing them back.River was underused i think in this episode. Hardly no spoilers except the killing a man and another Pandorica mention. The conclusion was both dazzling and satisfying using The Angels to seal the crack leaves it open for them to return maybe? Now onto that kiss Im not complaining because it was bit over the top and it is a family show (although that is true) but im complaining because there was no need for it and Amy seems like a bit of a tart now. Blink (A fellow blogger) has said that its part of a bigger plot so we shall wait and see and ill eat my words if there is a good explaination for it. Overall a 5 star story handled perfectly. My fave Moff episode and my fave of the series.Until next week dont feed the any ducks! (I dont know I needed to mention the duck pond somewhere!)

The Time Of Angels Review *** ( 3 stars)

Best bit: The Angel using sacred/scared Bob to talk to the Doctor. "They snapped my neck Sir.."
Worst bit: The cliffhanger isnt the usual "How are they going to get out of this?" type were used to.
Best Character: River Song. Ive warmed to her but she has a dark secret I can tell.
Line of the episode: The Doctor: Yeah? Well, it's boring now, isn't it? They're boring-ers! Blue boring-ers!

From Daleks to another familiar foe The Weeping Angels and what a first part. I liked it so you may wonder why I gave it 3 stars? Well its a first part and if the second part is as good ill give it a 5 but until then its a 3. So the story itself reintroduced us to the Weeping angels and River Song and for once everything wasnt crammed in.The story built up the tension nicely not revealing to much and not to little. The catacombs were a good move creating a beautifully creepy atmosphere that fitted the Angel perfectly. The Doctor got to have a bit of fun with the arguing with River and they seem like a old married couple.Im not to sure about the Angels new powers they seem a bit strange but they are still very freaky. Theres not much else to say as this is a two part story but if the Moff can sustain the tension in the next episode then im sure it will be a Blink beater.Until next time bye sweeties.....

Victory of The Daleks Review *** 1/2 (3 and a Half Stars)

Best bit: The Daleks pretending to be all nice.Just brilliant!
Worst bit: Not seeing the new Daleks in action much.
Best Character: Winston Churchill .Oh yes!
Line of the episode: Amy: Oi! Churchill! Tardis keys. The ones you just took from the Doctor.
After last weeks episode that left some feeling as though they had Deja-Vu last nights episode brought us something completely new! New Daleks, new writer (for this series) and a original plot. So the Story was geared up to introduce new primary colour Daleks that some may like others dont. I actually really like them just give them time to grow on you. I felt as though the last 15 minuites could have been used a bit better instead of them being padded out with Bracewell getting de-activated and a little more air time for the daleks was needed. This is forgiven  because of the presence of the fabulous Winston Churchill played by Ian Mcneice. Him and Matt had a good on screen friendship and its fun to think of The Doctor and Winston meeting in the past. This is easily the best Dalek episode since Doomsday and the best of the series so far. Amy once again steps in and saves everyone and another scottish mention or person ( ok scotland is great already!) needs to be changed a bit to keep the plots fresh though the scottish thing is just me being nitpicky. Another crack sighting and how come Amy dosent know about the Daleks? She couldnt have missed them surely.Until next week Keep Buggering on! Can you say bugger at teatime?

The Beast Below Review *** 1/2 (Three and a Half Stars)

Best bit: The Star Whale  flying the people of Starship UK through space because it wanted too. Awwww...
Worst bit:The Smiler/Humans what was the point of that?
Best Character: Liz Ten! "I'm the bloody queen mate!"
Line of the episode: The Doctor: Sorry, checking all the water in this area; there's an escaped fish.

So we're off and straight into the action with a trip into the far future on board the Starship UK. My rating may seem a bit low but i gave last weeks four stars and i didnt think it was as good so thats why. Anyway first off the story and basically its a bit like Torchwood's Meat crossed with Doctor Who's Gridlock. In Meat some dodgy butchers were using a space whale as a food product and selling it off and a simular theme in The Beast Below was the Star Whale being used for human needs. The Gridlock connection is just the beast being hidden like the Macra and lots of people oblivious to whats going on. Also i got a feeling of Planet Of the Ood with the whole brain buisness and the sound the beast was making. I mean it was a good story but i think there were a few missed oportunities like futher exploration of the ship and a few more action scenes. Now onto characters and Liz Ten was brilliant! I also liked the little girl helping The Doctor and Amy and it seems to be a bit of a theme to the series. The Smilers were seriously underused and they werent as scary as they could have been. The Star Whale was the highlight for me. I felt sad  for it and we hadnt even seen it properly at that stage. I thought it ws brilliant the parallels between it and The Doctor helping people in need. A nice ending with Amy truly understanding The Doctor better than any other companion and another crack ( not that kind of crack ) sighting! So next week the daleks are back and its going to be brilliant! Until then GERONIMOOOOO (Told you i'd get a catchphrase i know its The Doctors but too bad its mine now!)

The Eleventh Hour Review ***** (Five stars)

Best Bit: Amy Ponds legs! Oh best bit of the episode.. ah.....FISH CUSTARD!
Worst Bit: I liked it all really i genuinely cant think of anything!
Best Character: Prisoner Zero for me he looked so slimy yet kind of cute.
Line Of The Episode: The Doctor: Amy Pond, there's something you better understand about me, 'cause it's important and one day your life may depend on it. I am definitely a madman with a box!

Last night we got our first new adventure in months and was it worth the wait? Well simply yes it was. Fun, exciting, spooky and sleek are all words that i would use to describe that brilliat debut for Matt Smith our Eleventh Doctor. The story to start was back to classic Who the Doctor saving the world and joining forces with peole he has met. Last years specials focused on David Tennants departure and had a bleak tone to the episodes but now thats over its about time we had some fun. The monsters were pretty good the Face tendril and Atraxi. The effects didnt look as good as they usually do and disguising them as humans always cuts the budget but who cares they were new and exciting like every thing else! Of course the arc begins in this episode "silence will fall" a bit like the darkness in Series 4 when it meant Davros and The Daleks coming back. Now onto the performances and Matt and Karen.... Fantastic! Matt excelled in the role playing a scene for  laughs if needed or a sense of fear if needed and his mad attitude is reminicent of our previous Doctor turned up a 100! Ive almost forgotten about the new titles and guess what i love them too! The music isnt as dynamic as it used to be but it will grow on me im sure. At the end we get a look at the new Tardis which will take us to the far future and back in time  and  a look at Amy's wedding dress! So a Doctor Who wedding it cant be worse than a Torchwood one! I dont think by far this is the best episode of the series i think there is better to come! Until next week ummm i need a catchphrase! Ill think of one by next week tra.
